Ranunculus Tecolote 'Gold' Bulbs (10 Pack) - Orange to Yellow Blooms for Temperate Spring Gardens
Ranunculus, the cool-season flowers, thrive in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. For outdoor landscape planting, select a location in beds, borders, or cutting gardens with good soil drainage. If water still puddles 5 to 6 hours after a hard rain, it's best to find a different spot or amend the soil with organic matter to improve drainage. For outdoor container growing, choose a container with a drainage hole at the bottom, ensuring the right size for the number of bulbs you intend to plant.
In zones 4–7, Ranunculus should be planted in the spring, while in zones 8 and warmer, they should be planted in the fall. For outdoor landscape planting, dig holes and set your Ranunculus bulbs 2–3" deep and 4–6" apart. For container planting, set your Ranunculus 2" deep and 3–4" apart in good-quality, well-draining potting soil. Cover the bulbs with soil and water thoroughly, but refrain from watering again until you notice sprouts.
To maintain beautiful blooms, keep Ranunculus moist without overwatering while the foliage is green and the flowers are in bloom. Deadhead your plants to keep them healthy and allow for more blooms. Clip off foliage and stop watering when the leaves start to yellow and die back, allowing your Ranunculus bulbs to dry out when they go dormant and the foliage is gone.

Regarding USDA OUTDOOR GROWING ZONES, Ranunculus can be grown in zones 8, 9, and 10. In colder zones, you may plant in the spring past frost, and the bulbs/corms may be dug up in September and overwintered in a cool, dry space. Ranunculus do not like high heat or humidity.
